Terminal Management System

Terminal Management System

The TMS runs on the Switchio platform and puts the whole fleet on one screen. Live status, configuration, remote updates of firmware, applications and keys, and onboarding that takes a batch of devices at a time.

What you can do

The fleet, from one screen.

Everything a support team does on a terminal happens centrally, so a parameter change does not need a visit and a new device does not need a technician.

  • Live status of every deviceSee which terminals called in, what they run and how they are configured, across the whole network.
  • Configuration without a visitChange parameters centrally and let the terminal pick them up on its next call, instead of sending a technician.
  • Firmware, applications and keysRemote management of firmware, applications, parameters and security keys on Android devices.
  • Onboarding in batchesAdd a single terminal or import a large batch at once, with the setup inherited from its place in the hierarchy.
  • Switchio Store on AndroidEvery Android terminal comes with the store preinstalled for approved applications, and PAX devices also support MAXSTORE.

Two ways in

API and web portal.

The API carries the data into your systems, the web portal is for everyday work from anywhere, outside the PCI DSS scope.

TMS API

Direct integration with your systems over mTLS and VPN, read only or read and write roles.

  • Current terminal status
  • Full and basic configuration
  • History of calls to the TMS
  • Secure data delivery through the API and the data pump
  • Scope specific access, for example a network or a merchant
  • Ready to manage high volumes of terminals automatically

TMS Lite Portal

A web portal accessible from the internet, for quick oversight in everyday work, outside the PCI DSS scope.

  • Current terminal status
  • Full and basic configuration
  • History of calls to the TMS
  • Update settings and onboard devices
  • Import large batches at once

Hierarchy

The tree mirrors your business.

Terminals sit in the structure you already use, so configuration and reporting follow it.

  • NetworkThe top level, assigned to each client, where the defaults for everything below are set.
  • MerchantThe entities operating under the network, each with its own configuration and reporting.
  • LocationPhysical stores or business units, so a change can stop at one site.
  • TerminalOne or more devices in a location, attended or unattended.

FAQ

Terminal management, answered.

What operations teams ask us first.

What does the Terminal Management System do?

It centralises the management of a terminal fleet. Terminals are organised into a hierarchy of network, merchant, location and terminal, and you monitor, configure and update them from one place instead of device by device.

How big a fleet does it handle?

There is no limit on the size of the network, the number of countries or the number of terminals. The same system runs a handful of devices and a fleet spread over several markets.

How is the API integration secured?

The TMS API runs over mTLS certificates and VPN access. The setup is done together with your technical team, so the connection matches your security rules.

Can we use it without the rest of the platform?

The TMS is part of the Switchio platform and runs on the same switch as the payment applications, so it is not sold on its own.
