Why unattended is different

The machine has to cope alone.

Everything that a cashier would notice and fix has to be either automatic or visible from the office.

  • Nobody is there to helpAn unattended machine has no cashier to restart it, so the payment part has to recover on its own and report what happened.
  • Card data never sits in the machineTokenisation replaces the card number with a token, which keeps the operator systems out of the PCI DSS scope.
  • One fleet, one screenVending machines, kiosks, parking columns and reverse vending machines are managed together, with remote parameters and updates.
  • More than cardsMajor schemes run next to QR payments, fleet cards, meal cards and vouchers, which is often what decides whether the machine is used at all.

What runs where

FAQ

Unattended payments, answered.

What operators ask before putting a terminal in a machine.

What happens when the connection drops mid payment?

The terminal keeps the transaction and completes it when the line is back, and the management system shows which devices are behind. Nobody has to visit the machine to find out.

Does our back office end up in the PCI DSS scope?

Not for card data. The card number is replaced by a token, so the operator systems work with tokens and the sensitive part stays on the certified platform.

Can we accept meal cards or vouchers in a vending machine?

Yes. Beside the card schemes the platform handles QR payments, fleet cards, meal cards and vouchers, and which of them are live depends on the market and on the issuer.
