Switchio by MONET+

Platform

In-person payment orchestration platform

Switchio sits between your payment devices and your acquirers. It takes a transaction from any certified terminal, SoftPOS phone or unattended device, applies your routing rules and sends it to the acquirer you choose, with a backup ready for the moment one stops answering.

How it works

One platform between the terminal and the acquirer.

In-person payment orchestration means routing card present transactions to several acquirers from a single integration. Devices connect once to Switchio, rules decide where each payment goes, and the platform translates the protocol the acquirer expects.

Key capabilities

What the platform does.

The switch at the core processes thousands of transactions per minute and behaves the same whether the payment starts at a counter, a kiosk or a charge point. Switchio calls it the Authorisation Core Module, and the Payment Gateway page is where its routing rules, mapping and pipelines are described.

  • Smart routingEvery payment takes the path you set, by card type, amount, merchant or your own rules.
  • Automatic failoverWhen an acquirer stops answering, the transaction goes to the backup and the sale still goes through.
  • Multi-acquirer connectionsOne integration reaches 40+ acquirers, domestic schemes and processing centres.
  • End-to-end encryptionPCI P2PE certified encryption and key shielding protect card data from the terminal to the host.
  • Protocol translationSwitchio speaks the protocol each acquirer expects, so a new connection does not change your integration.
  • Alternative payment methodsAccount to account payments and wallets run natively next to cards, in the same transaction lifecycle.

BUILT TO KEEP RUNNING

When an acquirer goes down, your checkout does not.

  • 40+acquirers, local and global

FAQ

Payment orchestration, answered.

The questions banks, retailers and operators ask us first.

What is in-person payment orchestration?

It is a layer between payment devices and acquirers. Terminals, SoftPOS phones and unattended devices connect once to Switchio, and routing rules decide which acquirer takes each transaction.

Because the platform translates protocols, adding an acquirer is a configuration step rather than a new integration project.

How is orchestration different from a payment gateway?

A gateway carries a transaction to one acquirer. Orchestration decides which acquirer should take it, moves to a backup when one is unavailable and speaks the protocol each of them expects.

Read the full comparison

What happens when an acquirer goes down?

The transaction is rerouted to the backup acquirer under the rules you set, so the payment still completes. Routing rules can also send traffic by card type, amount or merchant, not only during an outage.

Can we keep the terminals we already have?

Switchio runs on Ingenico LANE, DESK and MOVE for attended use, on SELF and OPEN for unattended use, and on Android devices from PAX, NEXGO, Ingenico and FEITIAN. Tell us what you run today and we will confirm the models.

Is the platform cost effective?

Yes. Switchio is delivered as a tailored SaaS with a low initial investment and variable pricing, so there is no data centre or licence to buy up front. The certified payment applications run on the terminals you already have, which saves a hardware swap, and least-cost routing sends each transaction to the acquirer with the best fee. A new acquirer or a new market is configuration, not another integration project.

Can we run the platform under our own brand?

Yes. The payment application, the SoftPOS application and the merchant portals are white label, so your customers see your brand.

Which certifications does the platform hold?

PCI DSS certified annually, PCI PTS every two years, PCI P2PE for point to point encryption, PCI MPoC for the SoftPOS solution and ISO 27001 for the organisation behind it.

How does a rollout work?

In three phases. Integration is where new features are built and tested, acceptance is where they are certified and validated, and production is a phased rollout to the fleet.
